Hur fungerar körkortsutbildning på engelska?
1. Initial assessment lesson
We evaluate your existing driving skills and create a personalised training plan in English, no language barrier.
2. Theory instruction in English
Comprehensive theory sessions covering all areas of the Swedish test: road signs, speed limits, right-of-way rules, alcohol & drugs, eco-driving, and hazard situations.
3. Practical driving lessons
Driving lessons in English with an instructor who adapts to your experience level. We practice in real traffic environments around Flemingsberg and Farsta.
4. Risk education (Riskettan & Risktvåan)
Two mandatory modules: a theory session on alcohol and drugs (Risk 1) and a practical skid-pad session (Risk 2). We book these for you and explain what to expect.
5. Theory test (kunskapsprov)
Book your theory test in English at Trafikverket. We run mock tests until you consistently score 58+ out of 70.
6. Driving test (uppkörning)
Practical driving test at Trafikverket Södertörn or Farsta. We offer a test-area lesson and a test car for your exam day.

The Swedish theory test in English
The kunskapsprov consists of 70 questions covering road signs, traffic rules, eco-driving, alcohol regulations and hazard perception. You need 52 correct (74%) within 50 minutes. The test is available in English at Trafikverket. Din Körskola prepares you with English-language theory material, study guides and mock tests covering all question categories. We know which topics catch international students off guard: roundabout rules, silent yield obligations (tyst väjningsplikt) and Swedish road sign subtleties, and we address these explicitly.

Can I take the Swedish theory test in English?
Yes, Trafikverket offers the theory test (kunskapsprov) in English. We help you prepare with theory material in English.
I have a driving licence from outside the EU. What do I need to do?
If your licence is from outside the EU/EEA, you generally need to take the full Swedish driving test. We'll assess your current skills and create an efficient training plan.
Do you offer lessons for people converting an American/Canadian/Australian licence?
Yes, we have experience with North American and Australian drivers. The main differences are roundabout rules and speed limits, and we focus on what matters.
How much does a driving licence cost in Sweden?
Total cost typically ranges from 10 000 to 20 000 SEK depending on how many lessons you need. We offer packages from 799 SEK per lesson. Contact us for a personalised estimate.

What is the theory test like in Sweden?
The theory test (kunskapsprov) has 70 questions and you need at least 52 correct (74%) within 50 minutes. It can be taken in English at Trafikverket. We prepare you with full mock tests until you consistently score above 58.
How long does it take to get a Swedish driving licence?
On average 20–30 lessons for a beginner. With a structured package, most students complete the process in 8–14 weeks. If you already have significant driving experience, fewer lessons may be needed.
Do I need a Swedish personnummer to get a driving licence?
Yes, a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer) is required to apply for a driving licence. If you have a coordination number (samordningsnummer) instead, contact Transportstyrelsen for guidance.
What are the main differences between Swedish and British/American traffic rules?
Key differences: roundabouts (traffic inside has priority, you yield when entering), speed limits (50 km/h in town, not 30 or 40), blood alcohol limit of 0.2 per mille (effectively zero), and a mandatory risk education (halkkörning on ice). We cover all of this in your theory sessions.
Can I use my foreign driving experience to reduce the number of lessons needed?
Yes. We assess your current level in an initial lesson and tailor the training accordingly. Experienced drivers from similar traffic systems may need as few as 8–12 lessons focused on Swedish-specific rules.
